Conversations of Global Significance
Back in February, Shangri La partnered with the East-West Center to host the trilateral discussions between the US, Japan and South Korea. It was a re-opening of sorts, the first time Shangri La had hosted a diplomatic event since before the pandemic.
Then in March, we partnered again with the East West Center to host the Senior Journalists Seminar, a study and travel program that brings multi-national journalists together to talk about the role of religion and identity. At the end of their day-long discussions, the journalists were joined by Artist in Residence Sherin Guirguis and Shangri La 8x8 artist Reem Bassous in a discussion exploring the intersections of storytelling between journalism and art.
