“We live and love with hope and pride that mother earth, she will survive” – Omar Offendum

Today we are sharing a glimpse into Omar Offendum’s 2016 Residency at Shangri La. This video highlights Offendum’s connection to Shangri La’s Syrian interiors, reflections, and artistic responses that were generated over the course of his Residency.

In his recent interview with Condé Nast, Offendum shares his reflections on Arab American Heritage Month, his response to Shangri La’s Damascene interiors, and how his artistic practice is an act of preserving and shaping Arab American culture today.
